CLAN has launched a series of creative writing workshops for service users in the Turriff area. The free weekly writing workshops will take place within Turriff Library from Thursday, 1st February between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Run by Sally Givertz, the Writing for Wellbeing workshops will run for six weeks and the charity is anticipating significant interest from service users and their families.
The two hour-long workshops have been designed to give people the time and space to express their thoughts and feelings freely.
Sally will facilitate and offer writing prompts such as objects, quotations, and images to inspire participants to create their own short poems.
Angie Howarth, CLAN's area services coordinator in North Aberdeenshire, said: “We’re very pleased to have launched our creative writing sessions in Turriff following feedback from service users.
“The sessions will be very helpful for those who want time and space to be able to express themselves, support will also be provided and we hope those who attend will enjoy the experience.
“We look forward to welcoming people to the sessions. No previous writing experience is needed – if you can write a shopping list, you’re already half-way there!”
