Nutrition has a key role to play in all the stages of cancer treatment. Good nutrition can build someone up in preparation for surgery, it can also help with recovery post operatively. Nutrition is also important while we are going through different cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. If the body is well nourished it tends to handle challenging treatments such as these better.
Keeping well nutritionally is a challenge. Everyone has their own individual experience. Different forms of cancer and treatments can impact on the body’s ability to maintain a healthy nutritious diet. Common side effects to treatments include poor appetite, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, dry mouth, taste changes and fatigue.
Come along to this interactive nutrition support workshop to hear more and have the opportunity to discuss your own nutritional issues.
The workshop is open to anyone who is currently undergoing cancer treatment or is post treatment.
