CLAN's senior management team are responsible for the day-to-day operational needs of the organisation.
Dr Colette Backwell, Chief Executive
Reporting to CLAN’s Board of Directors, Colette is responsible for the development and future sustainability of CLAN. She ensures effective strategies and programmes are in place to support CLAN’s aims and objectives.
Susan Christie, Head of Finance and Legal
Susan is responsible for CLAN's current and future financial wellbeing. This includes setting the financial strategy and setting, monitoring and reporting against annual budgets. She is also responsible for producing the annual accounts and oversees the financial systems and procedures to ensure we meet legal and audit requirements. Susan also ensures the company meets its other legal obligations.
Fiona Fernie, Head of Income Generation and Business Development
Fiona is responsible for CLAN's Income generation stream, including the development of fundraising activities throughout the CLAN in the Community network. Fiona also oversees CLAN's Planned Giving strategy and network of busy shops stretching from Aberdeen to Orkney and Shetland.
Iona Mitchell, Head of Cancer Support Services
Iona is responsible for leading the Services team including CLAN in the Community, Wellbeing Services and the Children & Families Service. Iona and her team continually work to develop and enhance CLAN's established service offering through our community network, as well as outreach opportunities throughout the communities in which CLAN works.
Kevin Mathieson, Interim Head of Cancer Support Services
Kevin will be responsible for the Head of Cancer Support Services role while Iona Mitchell is on maternity leave. Kevin brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the team having previously worked in cancer support and nursing environments.
