Training & Looking the Part
This training advice is for guidance purposes only. You are experts on your own fitness levels so please always listen to what your body is telling you and if unsure please seek medical guidance. We strongly advise that you do some training before taking part in any of the sponsored walks, without preparation it could lead to injury or some big blisters!

Now you’ve got the training sorted – it’s time to look the part!
CLAN at the Castle is kick-starting our Go Purple for CLAN campaign so we’d like you to do your bit by wearing as much purple as possible! We’re talking tutus, head bands, leggings, crazy wigs … you name it, we’d like to see it!
To help you out, we have a range of purple merchandise available to buy from CLAN. This includes tutus, sweat bands, flower headbands, scarves, CLAN temporary tattoos and more! Pop into CLAN House on Westburn Road to buy your goodies, come along to our Walker Open night or buy them on the day. First Bus - City to Crathes and return FREE shuttle bus
First Bus Aberdeen have kindly provided shuttles buses to and from CLAN at the Castle!
The CLAN branded buses will make six runs from Aberdeen to Crathes Castle, with the service starting at 7.15am, 8.15am, 9.15am, 10.15am, 11.15am and 12.15pm from Skene Street, behind His Majesty’s Theatre.
The services will stop to collect people at Carden Place (Malmaison), Great Western Road (Coop), Cults (outside Lloyds Pharmacy) and Peterculter (opposite SPAR).
Return trips from Crathes Castle to Aberdeen will depart at 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
Please note, all bus times are approximate. The journey from City to Crathes will take around an hour.
