We are delighted to share with you the very latest news about the 2017 CLAN Cancer Support Ball, formerly Christmas Cracker, and this year’s sparkling theme.
This year’s event, the CLAN Crystal Ball, will take place on Saturday, 28th October 2017, at Ardoe House Hotel & Spa and will be hosted by television and radio presenter Grant Stott.
Thanks to the support of last year's attendees, our 2016 Ball raised £37,000 which went directly to the development of CLAN Cancer Support’s wellbeing and support services throughout the north-east of Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
Recent statistics show that more than 2 in 5 people in Scotland will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime, meaning that the need for services supporting those affected by a cancer diagnosis, whether personally, as a family member, friend, colleague or carer, will continue to grow.
During 2016, CLAN Haven, our bed and breakfast facility for those travelling to Aberdeen for cancer treatment, provided 9,200 bed nights; a crucial service for people living in remote or rural locations.
In response to growing demand, our Children & Families Service, which provides support for children, young people and families affected by cancer, continued to expand and saw us establish dedicated support in CLAN’s Elgin, Shetland and Inverurie bases, reaching 339 clients through one-to-one sessions, family activities and events.
With your help and inspiring generosity, the Crystal Ball will play a crucial role in allowing us to continue CLAN’s development, as we further expand our services in the heart of local communities, providing a range of services including counselling, complementary therapies and cancer specific support groups.
The CLAN Crystal Ball promises to be an evening not to be missed and will include a drinks reception, followed by a three-course dinner, live entertainment and dancing to Burlesque.
Whether attending as a corporate night out, staff or personal celebration, the night promises to dazzle you and your guests.
