CLAN Cancer Support is launching the 8 week ‘Feeling Better, Feeling Positive’ programme which has been funded by Aberdeenshire Council as part of the Your Voice, Your Choice scheme.
Starting on August 10 the programme will deliver weekly workshops focusing on various self-management approaches to maintain a sense of wellbeing for those going through cancer treatment and recovery.
Taking place in The Palace Hotel, Peterhead, sessions will take the form of small supportive groups with each week focusing on a different topic.
Week 1 - 10/8/17 5.30pm- 7.30pm
Neurological Therapy facilited by George Whibley
A workshop giving people copies strategies for depression, guilt, grief,stress,anxiety and fear.
Week 2 - 17/8/17 10am-12pm
Colour & Styling Workshop facilitated by Angie Howarth
An open discussion raising awareness on the use of colour and style to help you feel better about your appearance.
Week 3 24/8/17 10am-12pm
Nutrition facilitated by Marie Dow
Nutritional advice, hints and tips with a healthy tasting session.
Week 4 - 31/8/17 10am-12pm
Move More facilitated by Macmillan Outreach Officer
Introduction to Gentle exercise for people with Cancer
Week 5 - 7/9/17 1pm-3pm
Relaxation and Wellbeing including Mindfulness session, facilitated by Sarah Aitken, MICHT
Week 6 - 13/9/17 10am-12pm
Laughter Yoga, facilitated by Helen Spencer
Week 7 - 21/9/17 10am-12pm
Look Good, Feel Better Make Up and Skin Care Masterclass
Week 8 - 29/9/17 6.30pm-8.30pm
Visualisation, Evaluation and Celebration facilitated by George Whibley
Celebration for all those who attended Session 3: starting with a visualisation session then disussing and evaluating the 7 weeks sessions following by drinks and nibbles.
